The V.U.C.A. typeface is Volatile, Uncertain, Complex, Ambiguous – an ambitious experiment based on a reinterpretation of the classical geometric Futura ‘a’, initiated at ECAL in 2009.
The typeface came first to use throughout Better Mjstakes magazine, its inofficial specimen V.U.C.A. magazine and various other media such as posters for night clubs in Singapore or engraved in golden boards gracing lyrics of Notorious B.I.G.
In summer 2014 I was hired by
Assembly London to develop the complete alphabet for four weights (Regular, Italic, Bold, Bold Italic) for the new visual identity of fashion label
Finery. A refined version of V.U.C.A. is now available in the
shop.
